An advanced cancer diagnosis brings up a number of decisions to make. These may be about what type of care or treatment to receive. Or they may be about what kind of information patients want to hear. For many families, it's important that the person with cancer be in charge of making decisions. But in some families and also in some cultures, it's common for family caregivers to make most of the decisions. And they may make them with or without the patient knowing.
